Established in 1975, the Bachelor of Science in Clothing Technology under the College of Home Economics in the University of the Philippines – Diliman has been known to produce future game-changers and mavens in the fashion industry, specializing in design, research, management, and production. Distinguished and well-respected alumni such as Jojie Lloren, Veluz Puno-Reyes, Jason Pugat, PTRI Director Cecilia Elumba, and other notable graduates of the program have been making their own marks in specialized fields and revolutionizing arts, clothing, and textiles.
In celebration of the 42nd year of the program, the UP Clothing Technology Class of 2018 will be challenging the norms and breaking standards through a fashion show of their graduating students entitled Damitan Mo Si Maria. This coming January 2018, witness a movement and statement by a new breed of talented designers with their own interpretations on who Maria is – in a variety of forms: gender, social status, and representation.
