We are delighted to present Emanuel John Villarin and Jeanne Rafaella Marquez in a Duo recital on August 14, 2022, at MSO Recital Hall, Circuit Makati City.
We are celebrating the sending off of 2 of our talents to Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin and Juilliard School of Music, New York.
EMANUEL JOHN VILLARIN :
Emanuel John Villarin also known as EJ, is a pioneer member of the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra (MSJO) and now building his name as an excellent young artist as he received multiple awards at the National Music Competitions. He garnered the 1st prize for the Junior Strings Category in 2020 and the 1st Prize New York Young Performers Prize in 2021. He also received a Laureate, for his outstanding participation at the 2021 Chicago Violin Competition for Young Artists. He has served as MSJO assistant concertmaster from 2019 up until he was appointed concertmaster of the MSJO in December 2021. He is also flourishing in his academics for he graduated with the high honors and is a scholar of Standard Insurance from the Philippine High School for the Arts. EJ has recently passed auditions to top European schools in Europe including the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Munchen, and the Hanns Eisler Hochschule fur Musik Berlin where he will proceed this school to study under Prof. Eva-Christina Schoenweiss.
JEANNE RAFAELLA MARQUEZ:
Jeanne Rafaella Marquez joined the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra in 2014 and served as its concertmaster from 2019 to 2021. She won first prize in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) in 2018 and was a featured soloist with the Manila Symphony Orchestra in 2019 under Filipino-Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski. Jeanne just graduated from the Colburn School in Los Angeles, where she studied under Prof. Joan Kwuon. She was chosen as the featured soloist of the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra (FASO) for the 2022 season, and she will perform in a Carnegie Hall concert in 2023. She just passed auditions at some of the country's premier music institutions, including the New England Conservatory of Music.
